Growth and Expansion Projects at Ellis
Ellis Medicine delivers on its promise to serve the community and reinvent healthcare - one patient at a time. Our strategic plans for the future of healthcare in our community include capital projects that address identified community needs.
Ellis is in the final phase of sweeping restructuring efforts that were set into motion in 2006 by the New York State Berger Commission report aimed at rightsizing healthcare. After unifying three hospitals under the Ellis Medicine umbrella (Ellis Hospital, the former St. Clare's Hospital and the former Bellevue Woman's Hospital), Ellis developed an extensive plan for restructuring healthcare in the community.
The plan included several capital projects that have already been completed, such as the development of an innovative Medical Home, the relocation of Ellis' 82 bed nursing home and short stay rehabilitation center, the creation of the Medical Center of Clifton Park, and the expansion and modernization of Bellevue Woman's Center. These projects are helping Ellis to deliver the right care, in the right location and setting, which ensures the highest quality, most efficient and cost-effective care.
Charitable donations have been instrumental and will continue to play a key role in Ellis' ability to make these projects a reality.
The following are the current projects that Ellis is focused on to improve the delivery of healthcare:
